Bengal Slow Loris (Nycticebus bengalensis)

Interesting :

It is small money. Its hair is short and fluffy. Its coat is dark-brown from head to its back. Its face is short. It has big circle eyes. Its ears are small sunk in is fluffy hair. It has no tail and no thumb. Claws of Its second fingers are like hook in order to grasp branches when it stands to catch insects for food. Its move is slow but it can turn to bite very quickly

Habitat :

It is found in Thailand, Indochina, Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and Mindanao.

Food :

It eats insects, small animals, bird eggs, and fruits.

Behavior :

It makes a living on trees only at nighttime. It is solitary except when it has young on its chest. During daytime, it hides its face from sunlight behind leafs or within hollows.

Age :

It can live up to 10 years.

Reproductive :

It is mature and ready for mating at the age of 2 years. It is in heat for 5 – 6 months, which is once every 37 – 45 days. Gestation period is about 193 days. It gives birth twice a year. One litter contains only one young. Young will stay with its mother until its size is almost the same as mother, then it separates. This process takes about 6 – 9 months.
